Announcing the new
SCRIP PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM
What does this mean? Here are the details
St. John’s Lutheran School parents who decide to participate in the SCRIP program receive 25% of the earnings generated by the SCRIP they purchase. The program includes both paper SCRIP purchases and purchases in the E-SCRIP program.
The program is effective now to give you a head start on next school year.
Earnings on purchases from 1/1/2001 through 3/31/2001 will be credited to the final payment of registration fees for the upcoming 2001/2002 school year.
Earnings on purchases from 4/1/01 will be credited to your tuition on a quarterly basis.
There is no paperwork for those who participate. E-SCRIP earnings are reported monthly to the school by E-SCRIP, Inc. We will keep track for you.
The program will continue for future school years in the same manner.
This is a way for you to put your purchases to work for you. Remember that you are already spending this money on groceries, clothing, restaurants, etc.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Is participation in the SCRIP program required?
No. Although some schools require that a minimum amount of SCRIP be purchased, our program is elective.
What about Albertson’s purchases and Target credit card purchases?
Because we do not receive from these companies the amount of earnings generated by each participant, we do not have the information necessary to share these earnings with parents. Additionally, the earnings received from Target are only 1% of purchases.
My sister and brother both shop at Vons. If they sign up for E-SCRIP, will that lower my tuition?
Yes, 25% of the earnings on THEIR PURCHASES will also be credited to your child’s tuition. Just let us know the names of people when you sign up.
I heard that there is an annual fee to participate in E-SCRIP. I don’t want to ask my friends and family to pay $10 every year.
The E-SCRIP program is now paying the $10 annual fee for the participants.
How do I sign someone up for E-SCRIP? I don’t have access to the Internet?
The easiest way to sign up is to call the SCRIP committee chairperson, Joyce Gregory at 988-1994. Just give the participant’s name, address and Vons Club number. The rest will be taken care of for you.
Is there a limit on my tuition credit?
No, you can receive a credit up to the full tuition paid for your children.
Who else can participate in the program?
You are encouraged to sign up family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, etc.
Here is a simplified example of how this partnership will work:
The Doe family has one student enrolled at SJLS. The Doe family shops at Vons, buys gas at Arco, and Dad Doe eats lunch at various fast food restaurants twice each week. They usually spend $100 at Toys R Us at Christmas time, and $100 at Old Navy for clothing. Grandma Doe and Aunt Susie Doe also shop at Vons and enroll in the E-SCRIP program.
